It’s not every day incredible opportunities get thrown into my lap, although in this case, my inbox. The opportunity for The Shrinking Violet to host a SECOND detox retreat in October 2017 in collaboration with TheLifeCo is too good to pass up.
I am able to give you guys plenty of notice this time and plan to host this detox during the October School Holidays which gives the large number of teachers who wanted to attend the previous detox, a chance to attend this one!
TheLifeCo is an organisation that provides a holistic approach to health, with physical retreat centres all across the world. Their Phuket centre features an all inclusive detox retreat that caters a specific menu to it’s guests from Healthy Nutrition, to Wellness Therapies and more! Their guest list even boasts celebrities like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Woody Harrelson!
TheLifeCo retreats are aimed at everyone, however they also specialise in weight management, cancer support, diabetes control, disease prevention and depression.
I am hosting a 7 day detox retreat which will include:
There are also additional services you may wish to add on which range from spa treatments (hello 90 minute massage!) to hormone therapy and blood analysis and more! There are several different program options to choose from – my first trip I did the Master Detox which was juicing for 5 days followed by 2 days of raw vegan food. I personally think that it’s great to give your body the chance to have no food to digest (during the juice) and then foods that are fast digesting for the raw vegan aspect. It sounds hard – but don’t be put off, I wasn’t hungry during this time except for one or two occasions and then you have access to as much detox soup as you like which fills the gap.
This retreat is all about taking away the stress of your everyday life and giving your body a chance to do what it does best – clean itself. Through rest, recovery and good nutrition, you will leave this detox feeling brand new and are more than likely going to shed a few kilos yourself too!
You will also have awesome group activities hosted by The LifeCo, some onsite and some offsite. Activities onsite were things such as Mandala Painting and nutrition presentations as well as a daily group walk, then offsite activities were multiple night markets, heading down to the nearby Naithon Beach (which has a beach bar where they bring your shakes down to the beach while you sun yourself – see below!) and we also heard there was an excursion to Big Buddha.
I am going to do a 7 day retreat and dates will be in early October 2017. Please fill out the form below and let me know if you are interested!
It would be absolutely incredible to spend 7 days bonding with like-minded individuals in the very beautiful Phuket for a life changing trip. I would also be hosting a wellness seminar on weight loss and nutrition and you could of course pick my brains about anything and everything!
The first question for most people – myself included – is the price of the retreat. TheLifeCo is a Turkish based company, so they do charge in Euro. I am excited to say that I have been able to secure a lower rate for the October 2017 retreat. The total cost will vary depending on how many nights you wish to stay. I will be there for 7 days during the retreat, but the retreat is fully customisable to suit you. Remember that this includes the detox, all accommodation, daily yoga, a wellness chat by myself, many therapies, beach transfers and much much more! This will be paid directly to The Life Co via credit or debit card. Let me know if you have issues with paying this way and we can sort out an alternative.
The cost is 220 Euro per person, per day and is in NZD roughly as follows:
7 day retreat – $2265 NZD (was $2688!)
10 day retreat – $3235 NZD (was $3676)
5 day retreat – $1617 NZD (I definitely recommend 7 days as a minimum to get the most out of your detox – time goes fast!)
The accommodation is amazing, as well as the entire list of incredible top quality services above – you can see images of the facility and rooms here. When I was there, I got a HUGE bed and even had a pool right on my doorstep.
This is most likely going to take place early October 2017 (I am planning to be there from the 2nd until the 9th) – the flights shouldn’t be too bad and I want to make this as affordable as it is fun!! You’re able to do tourist activities during the retreat but just bare in mind that October is the very end of the wet season in Phuket so there could be a little rain – this wont affect the retreat at all as everything we need is at the facility and the rain doesn’t really stop us from doing much there. Not too much extra money is needed while at the retreat, as all food and accommodation is covered. I personally took $1000 NZD for my time at the retreat and didn’t spend much of it at all. I also recommend if you do want to go sight seeing, that you do it before the retreat commences as any food you want to try etc can’t be done during the retreat. As mentioned, your detox is fully customisable and you can be there for as much or little time as you want. I do recommend at least 7 days to experience benefits, but I have met people who enjoyed 5 days and most people do 10 days or more during their stay. The length at which you stay is totally up to you!
I am really hope this interests a few people as I would absolutely love to spend time with you all, especially relaxing in the gorgeous Phuket.
