Let me just start by saying, I LOVE all things beauty related! Skincare, make-up and fragrance? Sign me up!
When I got an email about the chance to work with Adore Beauty, I honestly jumped at the chance. Adore Beauty is Australia’s first cosmetics retailer to sell exclusively online, and recently they have expanded their service to New Zealand! Further down, you’ll also be able to get a discount code.
Since overhauling my lifestyle with a more natural approach to food, I have slowly started changing many other areas of my life to have more of a natural focus too, this includes my beauty products! I’m not all the way there yet, but I have certainly made a few changes that will stick around.
Adore Beauty has a wonderful range of eco-concious, cruelty free and organic products and I have been trying a few of them. I did get a mixture of products of some old favourites and hard to resist buys, but also got multiple beautiful eco friendly products too.
1. La Mav Organic Bio-Active Primer
Firstly, I got La Mav’s Organic Bio-Active Primer. Since this is a product directly applied to bare skin to prep for makeup, making this natural is a great step in not only caring for your body and skin (especially if you’re prone to hormonal breakouts like me!), but also the environment. So far I have used this product each time I have applied makeup since receiving it, and there’s no complaints here. This primer claims to:
- Even skin tone
- Firm and plump
- Create an even base
- Aid foundation longevity
- Soothe and nourish
- 24-hr moisturise
I haven’t experienced anything to say otherwise from these, and have so far enjoyed it! It’s super creamy, nourishing and hydrating, plus it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. My makeup applies beautifully on top, and this product is also infused with vitamin c, and has zero nasties whilst boasting an impressive amount of certifications such as cruelty free, vegan, organic and toxic free! It has easy to read ingredients too which is such a bonus since usually makeup products have a long list of complicated ingredients. This does make me want to check out the rest of their range!

2. Face Halo Reusable Make-Up Remover
Secondly, I tried out a more sustainable way of removing my makeup – a cult favourite – Face Halo. Upon my first use, I could immediately see why these have been a game changer in the beauty community. It effortlessly removed every ounce of my makeup, with nothing but water! This means not only will people go through less makeup wipes (not something I usually use), but you’ll also use less cleanser or oil when trying to remove your makeup since it just needs water. I tend to follow it up with cleansing to ensure I’m getting everything, but I don’t need nearly as much! Win-win. Plus you can just pop these in the wash with your clothes and they come out good as new. This is a must buy!

3. Napoleon Perdis Liquid Cashmere Foundation
Another one of my absolute holy grail products, and it isn’t one of the ‘natural’ products I purchased, but it’s my ALL-TIME favourite foundation – Napoleon Perdis Stroke of Genius Liquid Cashmere. This brand isn’t readily available in New Zealand, so finding a place I can easily buy it online is fantastic. This foundation was introduced to me by my sister Lydia and I have loved it ever since. I wear it in Look 1, and it gives me a flawless, dewy finish. High coverage, beautiful colour and lasts for ages on me! I really don’t need to say much more, because this foundation speaks for itself; I love it!
4. Cosmedix Serum 16 with LG-Retinex
The next product I went for is from a brand that I love, and is a product that I’ve wanted to try for a while. Let me tell you this: IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Cosmedix is a skincare brand that I adore, and this item was one my one big ticket item from the whole Adore Beauty Haul. It’s also a product I would purchase for myself too, regardless of if it was gifted. Serum 16 is the BEES KNEES. Cosmedix is a beautiful cosmeceutical grade skincare brand that has no added fragrances, is cruelty free and is the closest thing you can get to prescription skincare. It features LG-Retinex which is a “proprietary encapsulation of retinol and retinaldehyde — that helps carry the active ingredients to where they need to be, for the best possible action.”
Cosmedix Serum 16 boasts the power to:
- Increases cellular turnover
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles
- Improves skin texture and tone
- Brightens the look of age spots and discoloration
- Boosts vital hydration
- Helps “lift” away visible irritation and signs of damage
- Less irritation/redness than traditional retinol products

And you know how usually you need to wait a solid week before knowing if a skincare is working for you? WELL, not with this! I literally felt like a goddess the morning after using it. As someone used to active skincare, this was a magical feeling for me. It also has helped to clear breakouts since. This product retails for $160, but from my experience the Cosmedix range lasts for *months* and you only use a tiny bit each night. Disclaimer: if you have never used active skincare, or a retinol/vitamin A product, you shouldn’t apply this daily to begin. You need to introduce your skin to it and work up to it slowly. Start every third night, then increase from there.
5. Oribe Bright Blonde Shampoo
My hair is also something I get asked about frequently, and how I maintain its colour. I always use a violet shampoo, so this time I decided I’d test out Oribe’s Bright Blonde Shampoo since it has been something I’ve wanted to try for a while. I have to say, I do wish I had gotten the travel size instead of spending so much on the large size, because I don’t know that it’s as strong in violet tone as my current buy. That being said, it leaves my hair silky smooth, smells beautiful and I’m a total sucker for the packaging. It does also remove the yellow shades from my hair, but since I love a super ashy look, I just don’t know that it’s strong enough for my personal preference.
6. Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Duo

I have gotten really into lip colour recently, and thought I’d give Gerard Cosmetics a go. I loved their shade options and that I could get a lip colour and pencil combo. Gerard Cosmetics is also cruelty free which is fantastic! I got their Hydra Matte Duo in the colour Bare It All which is a gorgeous nude. For a start, the lip pencil glides on super smoothly, and pairs perfectly with the liquid lipstick. It’s not too dry for a true matte lipstick which I know is often a struggle, and I found that it didn’t budge for most of the day. All in all, it’s a purchase I’m super pleased with as it’s a colour I love and feel comfortable wearing!
7. Edible Beauty Sea Hand Saviour

My final choice was the Edible Beauty Precious Sea Hand Saviour. I’ve been doing a lot of travelling recently, and on long haul flights it’s no secret that most of us get super dry skin. I have previously invested in a few products to keep myself feeling hydrated during these flights, so it was a no brainer that I needed to add a hand cream to my beauty bag too. What I love about Edible Beauty is that their brand is focused on a ‘range of pure, wildcrafted & botanical ingredients are literally good enough to eat.’ So there are absolutely no nasties or weird things in their products. Admittedly I have only used this handcream a few times – but it’s truly gorgeous! It doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy, but instead they’re left soft and hydrated. It’s also a relatively inexpensive product which only adds to its appeal!
I had a super positive experience with AdoreBeauty.co.nz. Despite the fact this was gifted, my order was placed as normal so I got to experience the full service! Their international shipping is fast, my products arrived unharmed, and they even include samples. I got an incredible Hermetica perfume selection of 13 minis which retails on their website for over $90, as well as two free face serum samples! They’re also vegan, cruelty free, paraben free and alcohol free too.
I’m so glad I had the opportunity to work with Adore Beauty, because it’s most definitely a service I would use. I’m all about online shopping, and when they carry so many brands I already know and love, that aren’t necessarily easy to get hold of in NZ – it’s a no brainer that I would use their website.
You can also use ELORA15 at the checkout to receive $15 off orders over $75. Please note that brand exclusions to apply, and you can find those here.
I hope you enjoyed a bit of a different blog post for me, and get the chance to check out Adore Beauty.
