About Me

Hello! My name is Elora and I am The Shrinking Violet! I’m a wellness and lifestyle blogger hailing from New Zealand, but you can often find me exploring a new part of the globe. Most of you will know me from my Facebook page, The Shrinking Violet where I documented my entire weight loss journey. I have lost over 55kg to date.Through my weight loss, I have also launched a nutritional lifestyle challenge called the 10 Week Challenge where I work as a Weight Loss Mentor alongside my friend and behavioural nutritionist, Sara Evans. I am first and foremost a foodie! I adore food; cooking it, shopping for it and creating! Spending time in the kitchen is one of my favourite things. However apart from my passion for all things food and wellbeing related, I also love to sing, act, write and much more.

I grew up all around the world, having lived in Hong Kong, England, Australia and New Zealand. I have a wonderful Mother and two older sisters but I am currently living in Perth, Western Australia. I have big dreams and am full of passion when it comes to the weight loss, health and wellbeing industry and cannot wait to see how my journey grows.

I started this website back in 2014 so it could compliment my ever growing Facebook page, and become a resource for those looking for answers. I envision it to become a one stop shop for my tips, faq, recipes and much more! I am so passionate about helping others that I want all the information to be easy to find, simple to read and applicable to every day life. Weight loss for me was something so daunting until I found out more about it – I want to prove that it is do-able for everyone through the right lifestyle and I hope that this website can help them along the way.

I am so thankful for how many people I have managed to reach out to through this journey, and to have people tell me that I have inspired them to change their life is the most rewarding thing that makes all of the ups and downs of my weight loss journey worth it.
